WHALE WATCHING

A trip to the Island wouldn’t be complete if you didn’t see any marine life! Jump aboard one of the whale watching marine tours located in Sooke and head out on an educational, exciting adventure. SOOKE POTHOLES 

Sooke Pothole Provincial Park provides access to the series of deep, polished rock pools and potholes carved naturally into the bedrock of the Sooke River. Unique rock formations were formed from the last ice-age millions of years ago. The park has several trails along the river, close to the shorelines and others that are perched high above the rock pools.

THE BEACHES 

There are many stunning beaches and parks to be discovered in the Sooke Region. If you take the Juan De Fuca Highway from Sooke to Port Renfrew, you’ll find several hidden gems along the way: French Beach, Mystic Beach, Sombrio Beach, China Beach, and Botanical Beach, which is home to amazing tide pools.

GALLOPING GOOSE TRAIL

Galloping Goose Trail is a 60-kilometer trail was originally a freight railway line built during the First World War. It connects downtown Victoria to the Sooke Potholes. It is the perfect destination for a hike, bike ride, or long walk. Cross the Selkirk Trestle and stare into the depths of Todd Creek from the Todd Trestle after strolling through lush forests and stopping for a little picnic at Matheson or Thetis Lake.
